Anna Ruth Green, 102, of Benton, TN passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 at an Athens healthcare facility. She and her husband "Rat" owned Greens Grocery Store for many years and made loyal and lifelong friends. She loved to quilt, garden and had the "gift of gab". And she loved to "go" anywhere, anytime, anyplace.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. "Rat" Green; parents, Newt and Laura Lawson Lillard; sisters, Wilma Cranfield, Eva Yena, Norma Jean Land, Ruby Moore, Flossie Fansler, Hester Bates, Lizie Statts; brothers, Mitchell Lillard, Dan Lillard, Jack Lillard, Jasper Lillard, Bill Lillard, Kenneth Lillard, J. N. Lillard.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ledford and Betty Jo Green; grandchildren, Jeff (Sally) Ledford, Kim Wilson; grandson, Jackson Wilson; honorary grandchildren, Gene and Carol Wilson; brother, Herb (Margaret) Lillard. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Benton Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Benny Thomas officiating. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Ledford, Jackson Wilson, Gene Wilson, Herbert Lillard, Hub Lillard and Ralph Biggs.
