IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Arlene E.
Stephenson
March 17, 1934 – December 3, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Arlene E. Stephenson, 91, of Ocoee, TN. She is at peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born on March 17, 1934, to the late Clint and Dorothy Payne Patterson.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and member of the Baptist faith. While her passion was taking care of her girls, she also loved her farm, especially the garden and cattle. She cooked, gathered, and canned food for her entire family. In addition, she was a skilled seamstress. Her children respected her intelligence, courageous determination, and nurturing love. We were truly blessed to have her as a mother.
In addition to her parents, Clint and Dorothy Payne Patterson, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.W. Stephenson; granddaughter, Lora Bramlett Barnes; siblings, Bingle Mantooth, Edith Parson, and Charles Patterson.
Left to cherish the many memories include her loving daughters, Jean Bramlett (John) and Kay Parm (Rev. Jimmy); grandchildren, Josh Bramlett (Jennifer), Jodi Jarrett (Bryan), Shani Atterton (Chirs Strike), Alexis Bramlett, Bryce Bramlett (Brandi Bargeron), Anna Souther (Colt), Eli Jarrett, Lucas Atterton (Maykayla), Katherine Atterton, and Logan Atterton; step-great grandchildren, Coton and Cody Hartsell; siblings, Bonnie Cavett (Ray), Thomas Patterson, Grady Patterson, and Wanda Webb (Bill); brother-in -law and sister-in-law, Beecher and Lois Stephenson; sister-in-law, Ruby Patterson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Smyrna Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Parm and Reverend Bryan Jarrett officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery, with Josh Bramlett, Lucas Atterton, Bryce Bramlett, Colt Souther, William Greeno, Eli Jarrett and Logan Atterton serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the church.
The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice for their compassion and consideration. We would like to say a special thank you to Katerine, Logan, and Lucas Atterton who took turns spending the night with grandmother. A thank you to the other family members who were on a schedule to visit grandmother, take her food and entertain her as her health declined.
Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.HigginsFunerals.com.
Arrangements are entrusted to Higgins Funeral Home of Benton.
