A.C. Rymer, age 73, a resident of Reliance, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2006 in an Athens healthcare facility. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was employed with the Polk County School System as a bus driver. Mr. Rymer was a son of the late Arthur and Minnie Green Rymer and was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Goforth Rymer, two children, Daryl & Karen Rymer, and four brothers.

He is survived by five daughters and their spouses: Arlene & Randy Hicks of Benton, TN, Shirlene & Ray Merrell of Reliance, TN, Tina & John Qualls of Tellico Plains, TN, Velar & Pete Morgan of Benton, TN, and Vicki & Dale Goforth of Cleveland, TN; four grandsons: Chris Hicks, Hunter Qualls, Scotty Morgan, and Colby Goforth; four granddaughters: Kellee Birchfield, Alisha Merrell, Kayla Morgan, and Makayla Merrell; two great grandchildren: Cheyenne Birchfield, and Ciara Birchfield; and a step-mother, Martha Rymer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Pete Morgan officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Church Cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
