Aster "A.L." Waters, age 69, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, May 04, 2006. Before his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver with Vulcan Materials. He was the son of the late Jim and Roxie Harden Waters, and was also preceded in death by three brothers: Herb Waters, Cecil Waters and Buck Waters.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Waters of Cleveland; four children and their spouses: Doug and Carol Waters, Paige and Kelvin Panter, April and James Placek, and Bridget Jones, all of Cleveland; seven grandchildren; three brothers: Shorty Waters of Benton, Bo Waters and wife Betty, and Willey Waters and wife Bessie, all of Old Fort; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Melvin Thompson and Reverend Paul Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with the release of a flock of white doves concluding the service.

His family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
