Bessie Elaine Stone Rogers, 80, of Benton, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 at her home. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and loved to quilt. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (J-Bird) Rogers; parents, Ovie and Elizabeth Buris Stone; daughter, Charlotte Swanson; granddaughter, Kimberly Garren; great-granddaughter, Tiffany Jones; siblings, Pauline Gilliland, Maggie Trew Nipper, Nadine Trew, Ruby Steward Newman, Loyd Stone, Spence Stone, Clifford Stone, Ben Stone and A.B. Stone. She is survived by her children, Dianne Orr (Dwight), Wanda Garren (Ray), Carolyn Arthur (Junior) and Tammy Kilpatrick; grandchildren, Marsha Yeatts, Becky Jones (Jessie), Brandy Butler (John), Naylene Landreth (Lebron), Daniel Orr (Tayler), Cassandra Arthur, (Aaron), Brandon Cofer (Jodi), Natasha Cofer, Cody Burgiss (fianc Stephanie) and Leland Kilpatrick; great-grandchildren, Jessica Jones (fianc Jake), Christopher Jones, Joseph Gaskill, Josh Gaskill, Rylee Scroggins, Wayden Scroggins, Luke Cook, Grant Cook, Rafe Cook, Isabella Cook, Avery Cofer, Bristol Cofer, expecting Baby Orr, Whitney Cross and Blake Cross. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Frank Redman officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Daniel Orr, Joseph Gaskill, Cody Burgiss, Brandon Cofer, Leland Kilpatrick, Christopher Jones and Josh Gaskill serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Orr, Ray Garren, Jessie Jones, Lebron Landreth, Aaron Scroggins, Jake Brown, Blake Cross, Rylee Scroggins and Wayden Scroggins. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
