Betty Ruth (Tams) Butcher Betty Ruth (Tams) Butcher, 81, a resident of Benton, TN passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. She was a homemaker. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Benton. She was preceded in death by her parents: Wilson and Icey Mae (Whorton) Tams; and her husband: Ausie A. Butcher. She is survived by a daughter: Yvonne D. Hancock and husband Wade of Jacksonville, FL; son: A. Allen Butcher of Denver, CO; grandchildren: Christian D. Hunter and wife Sarah of Youngstown, OH; Jeff A. Hunter of Boardman, OH; Elaine R. Butcher of Charlottesville, VA; sisters: Donna Jean Stevens of Chester, WV; and Dorothy Bailey of Duncan, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 28, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Herb Arp officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens.
