Betty Jo Curbow, of Ocoee, departed this life peacefully on December 23, 2022.
She was born on June 16, 1926, in Ocoee, Tennessee to the late Horace and Grace Thurman Snyder.
Throughout life, she was a long-standing member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Ocoee, TN, and was always active in her familys lives, lending a hand at a moments notice when one was in need. She was a dedicated and faithful employee for more than twenty-five years at the Credit Bureau of Cleveland, Fike Furniture, and the office of Dr. Thomas Williams in Etowah.
Betty Jo was deeply loved by her family and friends, along with anyone else who had the blessing of knowing her. A selfless woman to who had a lasting impact on everyones life and her death will leave an unfillable void in the hearts of those who loved her the most.
In addition to her parents, Horace, and Grace T. Snyder, she was also preceded by her husband, Sam Curbow; sisters, Ann Arthur, Sarah Fenwick, Margie Miller and Geneva Bonta.
Betty Jo, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, is survived by her children, Freeman (Nancy) Curbow, and Janie Curbow Bowman; grandchildren, Mike (Tina) Curbow, Tiffany (Mark) Brock, LeeAnn (Tommy) Ledford, Gary Bowman, Jr., and Shane (Brandi) Bowman; nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Andrew Sibley and Rev. Charlie Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens, with Gary Bowman, Shane Bowman, Mike Curbow, Michael Curbow, Mark Brock, Steve Hilliard, and Ben Norwood serving as pallbearers.
Family and friends will gather from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 358 HWY 64, Ocoee, TN 37361.
