Betty Jo Green, 83, of Benton, TN passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at a Chattanooga hospital. She was a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University and taught at Polk County High School for 37 years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Organization, NEA, TEA, Benton Order ofEastern Star and First Baptist Church of Benton. She was a tried and true University of Tennessee fan; her blood ran orange.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert R. "Rat" and Anna Ruth Lillard Green;

She is survived by her sister, Mary Ledford; niece, Kim Wilson; nephew, Jeff (Sally) Ledford; great nephew, Jackson Wilson; uncle, Herbert (Margaret) Lillard; honorary nephew, Ted Wilson, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Benton Memorial Gardens with Bill Blackwell in charge of the service.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jackson Wilson, Jeff Ledford, Ted Wilson, Sr., Ted Wilson, Jr., William "Buddy" Cummingsand J. W. Lee.
