Betty Cheek Spicer, of Benton, left this world for a better place on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 89 years of age.

She was born on August 13, 1933, in Farner, Tennessee to the late Fred and Joy Tilson.

Throughout life, Betty loved the Lord and enjoyed spending her time camping with her family, reading books, and being with her friends and neighbors who stopped by to visit her often.

In addition to her parents, Fred and Joy Tilson, she was preceded in death by her two loving husbands, Lester Spicer and the father of her children, Hubert Edsel Cheek; and one sister, Helen Rogers.

Left to cherish the many memories include her beloved children, Pam Burchfield, Brenda Howard, Patricia Huffaker, and twin sons, James Cheek and Joseph Cheek and wife April; grandchildren, Christy Davis, Kari Huffaker, Casey Huffaker, Nathan Cheek, and Matthew Cheek; great-grandchildren, Lydia Grady, Noah Grady, and Emma Grady. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dolores Wilson; and Elden Spicer, brother of Lester Spicer.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
