Blanche Moats, 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 in a local hospital. She was a member of Ocoee Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Dunn and Margaret Shelton Dunn; sons: Michael Moats, LaVaughn Moats and Danny Moats; grandson, Brandon Moats; brothers, Tom Dunn and Ott Ogle; sisters: Olea Mae Burke, Julie Phillips and Martha Stepp. Survivors include her husband, Reverend Clyde (Sonny) Moats of Cleveland; children: Golda and Russell Coward, Edward and Brenda Moats and Thelma and Dieg Valencia all of Cleveland and Archie Moats; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grand children; 1 sister, Hattie Davis of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverends Eddie Hooker and Jasper Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Chestuee Baptist Church Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the funeral home.
