Bobby Grundy Cate, 75, a lifelong resident of Ocoee, TN, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010, at a local hospital. He retired from Duracell and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Velma Lowery Cate; one son - Brian Cate; and two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Retta Blackwell Cate; his children Kimberly and husband Darryl Kerley of Ocoee, TN, Whitney and husband Sean Mikel of Kingsport, TN, and Paige and husband John Grable of Cleveland, TN; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at the Smyrna Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Parm officiating. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery with a white dove release and military honors. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Higgins Funeral Home.
