IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bobby
Jenkins
May 8, 1944 – January 30, 2026
Bobby J. Jenkins, age 81, of Delano, Tennessee, passed away on January 30, 2026, at CHI Memorial Hospital.
Bobby was born on May 8, 1944, on Pine Ridge in Benton, Tennessee. A proud graduate of Polk County High School, Class of 1964, he carried his Wildcat pride with him throughout his life. Soon after graduation, he served his country honorably in the National Guard then spent his working years at Johns Manville, from which he later retired.
Bobby was a proud supporter of Polk County High School sports. He took great joy in his community and was known for cheering on the Wildcats. He enjoyed history, telling stories, and passing along little bits of knowledge to anyone who would listen, especially about the Tennessee Vols. He was happiest just being around his family and friends, whether it was a simple visit, a ball game, or over a good meal.
Above all, Bobby was a devoted family man. He was married to the love of his life, Sula, for nearly 60 years. Together they built a life centered on love and faith as longtime members of Delano Baptist Church. Bobby lived his values each day through kindness and humility.
He is preceded in death by his parents, H.B. and Genora; his siblings, Betty Ledford (Joe), Larry, baby brother Glen, and Gloria Johnson.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sula; his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Laura; his cherished granddaughters, Caroline Craig (Andrew) and Catherine Agudo (Joshua); his sister, Vicki Bryan (Lynn); his sister-in-law, Darla, brother-in-law, Bobby Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Delano Baptist Church, with Pastor Jake Cook officiating. A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Delano Cemetery, with Derrick Davis, Ron German, Bobby Lynn Poteet, Burt Jenkins, Coby Johnson, and David "Cicero" Carroll serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Weaver, Jerry Miller, Bobby Johnson, Robbie Combs, Ralph Watson, James D. "Bud" Campbell, and Mark Allen.
His family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.
"To my family, I love you more today than yesterday, but less today than I will tomorrow." – Bobby
