Brad Peterson, 53, of Benton, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at his residence. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. Brad was very active with the MS Society. He was a member of the Delano Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd E. Peterson. Brad is survived by his mother, Louise Peterson of Etowah; two sons, Thomas Hunter Peterson of Etowah and Dylan Peterson of Benton; brother, Don Peterson and wife, Eveleen of Etowah; sister, Robin Peterson of Louisiana; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Dylan Burgess and Jake Hairrell. Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Gary Higgins officiating. His family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
