IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brenda
Cates
September 28, 1949 – January 31, 2025
On January 31, 2025, our precious mother, Brenda J. Cates, 75, of Ocoee, TN was carried away to her Heavenly home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She worked at American Uniform in Conasauga for 25+ years, where she gained many friends that she loved dearly. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Ocoee Baptist Church where she loved hearing her grandson preach; she was so proud of that.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Cain Dunn Sluder; her dad, Roy Dunn; one son, Dale Parker; her loving stepdad, Arthur Sluder; and one sister, Glenda Brown
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 52 years, Clarence "Junior" Cates; her children, Ginger Wilcox, and Lisa Bargeron and the father of Lisa's children, Bo Chambers; her grandchildren, Christopher "Blake" (Heather) Wilcox, Brett (Katie) Wilcox, Beth (Daniel) Stinnett, Britney Chambers, Brandi Bargeron (Bryce Bramlett), Brooke (Donny) Burnette; great-grandchildren, Canaan Wilcox, Zeke Wilcox, Madison Stinnett, Avery Stinnett, and Bryer Wilcox.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Blake Wilcox and Pastor Jake Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens, with Canaan Wilcox, Zeke Wilcox, Bo Chambers, Daniel Stinnett, Bryce Bramlett, and Brett Wilcox serving as pallbearers. Avery Stinnett will be an honorary pallbearer.
Her family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025, and one hour on Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was the best Mom, Mamaw, and Friend anyone could ever ask for. Remember, I LOVE YOU MORE.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Hearth Hospice and nurse Laken King for their genuine care and compassion.
