Callie Lorene Shell, 80, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on February 24, 2023, at a local hospital.

She was born on May 5, 1942, in Benton, Tennessee to the late Howard and Ada Bishop Haulk. Throughout life, she was a dedicated and faithful member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church. She also enjoyed spending time at yard sales, going out to eat with her family, and worshiping her Lord at church. A few of her fondest memories include the many blessings that her family and friends blessed her with, cross-stitching and sewing, and reading her Bible on a daily basis.

In addition to her parents, Howard and Ada Haulk, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Shell; granddaughter, Shirley Shaw; siblings, Wilma (K.C.) Wilson, Daul Haulk, Vera Haulk, and Fred Haulk; niece, Joann Haulk.

Left to cherish the many memories include her beloved children, Franklin (Bernice) Shell, Doyle (Mary) Shell, and Faye Vanburan; cherished grandchildren, Keisha Shell, Chelsea Vanburan, Caitlin Shell, Colton Gray, Corey Gray, and Courtney Murphy; great-grandchildren, Brylie Shell, Hudson Robinson, McKenna Gray, Knox Gray, Calie Murphy, Axel Shell, Ariel Shell, Jaci Gray, and Jada Gray; sisters-in-law, Beulah Haulk and Lucille Cronan.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Carl Haulk officiating. Interment will follow at Archville Baptist Church Cemetery, with Andy Haulk, Wyatt Robinson, Logan Brooks, Shane Shell, Colton Gray, and Ethan Boyd serving as pallbearers.

Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
