Charles L. Nelms" C.L"., 89, of Benton, TN passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at a local health care facility.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Henry Nelms, and Stella Lena Clements; sons, Swan (Ud) Nelms, John Nelms; sister, Carrie Demumbree; brothers, John Franklin, Ernest Nelms.

He is survived by his son, George and wife JoAnn Nelms, of Benton; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home, with the Reverend Bennie Watson and Reverend Quinn Green officiating. Interment will be at 11AM Wednesday December 21, at the Old Ocoee Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home.
