Charles Yates, 72, of Benton, TN passed away Monday, April 10, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John N. and Neallie Elizabeth Watson Yates.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Cain Yates; step-children, Randall (Tammy) Taylor, Penny Key, Pam (Ricky) Bell; grandchildren, Angela Key, Justin Key, Cynthia Bell; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Julie Yates, Elizabeth Wren; brother, John Yates. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN with the Reverend Guinn Merrell officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Old Ocoee Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the funeral home prior to the service.
