Charlie was born on January 9, 2012, to Jennifer and Fred Tolar Jr. in Chattanooga, TN. He was a ninth-grade student at Tennessee Online Public School.
Charlie brought joy and laughter into every room. His quick wit, humor and kindness could turn any stranger into a friend. He loved to create, expressing himself through art and cosplay. He and his big sister, Serena, shared a love of anime, cartoons and art. With both his sister, Serena, and his brother, Freddy, they shared a love for playing video and board games together. He was always up for a game night with his family.
The Hiwassee River was a very special place for Charlie. It was where he could connect and enjoy the beauty of the nature that surrounded him. He enjoyed walking his favorite pup, Ollie, along the river, and Ollie loved when Charlie would play fetch with him in the water. Charlie especially liked kayaking and tubing down the river with his family.
He practiced Jiu Jitsu and especially loved when he could try new moves on his big brother, Freddy. He met his best friend, Rory, at Jiu Jitsu, and they loved to roller skate, sing karaoke, and watch movies together.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Doris Joyner; great grandparents, Charlie and Margaret Thompson, Robert and Nina Joyner, Charles and Erie McKell, Dewey Tolar, and Charles and Annie Stewart.
Charlie’s memory will forever be cherished by his parents, Jennifer and Fred Tolar Jr.; sister, Serena Tolar; brother, Freddy Tolar III; aunts and uncles, Ashley Joyner (Lee Crump), Tommy (Shaun) Joyner, Crystal (Mark) McMahan, and Donna LoCicero; grandparents, Thomas Jerry Joyner, Janet and Fred Tolar Sr.; several cousins, extended family members, and friends.
