Cindy Lynn Burnette, 63 of Cleveland, TN, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday evening, May 31,2023, at a Chattanooga hospital, with her family at her side.

She was born on December 3, 1959 in Elmira, New York to James and Edna Hults Bailey. Cindy enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, swimming, being with friends and family. She had a passion for teaching Sunday school, Junior Achievement programs and running her own businesses; including flea market sales and bookkeeping. She studied Bible classes as well as Accounting/Business in college.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Edna Hults Bailey; one great-nephew, Terrick Bailey; brother-in-law, Tommy Burnette; and Father and Mother-in-law: James (Dovie) Burnette.

Left to cherish the many memories include her husband, James Donnie Burnette; children, Courtney Ann Presswood; Patrick (Joei) Burnette, Jimmy (Carrie) Burnette; Granddaughters: Lexi, Jade, and Raven Burnette; Jamie and Shelby Burnette, with Great-grandson Maverick; Siblings: James (Becky) Bailey, Lorraine (Albert) Bricka, and Ginger (Keith) Powers; Brother and Sister-in-law: Nina, Ernestine, Glenda, Johnnie, Ronnie, Clyde, Anita, and Teena; Several nieces and nephews: Joby, Jacob, Nate, Jolene, Tessa, Amber, and Whitney Bailey; and best friend, Mrs. Helen Jones.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hedden Cemetery (Mountain View Baptist Church) with her family serving as pallbearers.

Family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
