Clydene Qualls Brown, 81, a resident of Benton, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 at her residence. She retired from Volunteer Electric after 26 years of service. She was a member of Benton First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Beunia Crump Qualls; husband, Levi Brown; and brother, JT "Dude" Qualls. Survivors include her children, Jan Flippo and husband, Gary of Cleveland, Joan Bates and husband, Mitchell of Benton and Joel Brown and wife, Sharon of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Emily Green and husband, Adam of Athens, Erica Jolley of Cleveland, Mickey Bates of Benton and Davis Brown and Caroline Brown of Tampa, FL; great grandchildren, Lauren and Brayden Green of Athens; and sister-in-law, Shan Qualls of Benton. The funeral will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend David Crump and the Reverend Johnny Bankston officiating. The interment will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Benton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
