Dakota "Cody" Carver, 28, of Delano, departed this life on January 1, 2022.

Learning at an early age his passion for music, Cody quickly developed a talent to play the guitar and was a talented baseball and football player. He attended Polk County High School and was loved by everyone who knew him.

A generous gentleman, he was always willing to help anyone at a moments notice and would genuinely give his shirt off his back. A lover of hats, boots, cars, and trucks, Cody loved spending time outdoors, especially when he was able to be with his family, who he loved dearly. His generous and humorous personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Jo Pressley Carver.

Left to cherish the many memories include his beloved wife, Heather Black Carver; parents, Joe "Pops" and Christy Carver Sears; cherished brother, Coleton Sears; grandmother-in-law, Beverly "Mam" Kesley; mother-in-law, Felicia (Carson) Reno; nephew, Xavier Black. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Robby Hatcher and Pastor Titus Snyder officiating.

Family and friends will gather from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

A Graveside Committal service will be held at Chestuee Cemetery at a later date.
