Obituary

Delbert Arnold Moore, 82, of Old Fort, TN, went to be home with Jesus early Monday morning on April 21, 2025.

He served his country in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. After this time, Arnold was a hard-working man who operated a successful exterminating business, Moore Exterminating. During this time, he also served as a deacon with two churches, Maple Street Baptist Church and Beech Springs Baptist Church. Arnold led the youth group, drove the church van, and always stepped in where needed. Later in life, he served with Caris Healthcare, caring for those during their last moments, oftentimes baking goodies for the family to enjoy. Throughout his life, he enjoyed working on his farm and taking care of his cattle. More importantly than all the things he did on this earth, he impacted lives greatly for Jesus.

Arnold displayed the love of our Savior greatly by truly being the hands and feet of Jesus. He longed to serve people and did every day the Lord gave him here. Arnold cared for and loved each person he came in contact with throughout his life. He would show his love for people by taking them on trips to the mountains, telling his corny jokes, or making goodies for a family to enjoy. Whatever he did for you, you felt loved by him and by His Lord.

Revelation 21:4 says, "and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning or crying or pain, the first things have passed away." Arnold is no longer in pain, no longer suffering, but instead with our Savior, worshipping Him forever. The impact of his life and character will live on forever through the lives he touched. May we look at Arnold as the hands and feet of Jesus and see the mission field ahead.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daye and Mae, and his loving wife, Elizabeth Ann Moore.

His testimony and love will be cherished by his children: Virgil Moore and wife Anita Moore, Amanda Underwood and husband Bruce Underwood; Grandchildren: Ashley Moore, Lane Moore, and Kaytlin Underwood.

A Legacy Celebration will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Community Fellowship, 260 Benton Station Road, Benton, TN 37362.  Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens.
