Dewayne Bunyon McTaggart, 63, of Benton, received his ultimate healing on Monday, June 28, 2010. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of Old Ocoee Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bunyon McTaggart and Elfrieda Slack McTaggart and the mother of his children, Betty McTaggart Firestone. He is survived by his children, Shelia Phillips and husband, Lynn of Old Fort and Rick McTaggart and wife, Mindy of Harrison; grandsons, Matthew McTaggart, Michael McTaggart and Reed Phillips; granddaughter, Sage Baliles; sister, Mary Morris and husband, Bo of Benton and Patricia Davis and husband, Michael of Cleveland; brothers, Eddie McTaggart and wife, Judy and Ben McTaggart and wife, Josette, all of Benton; and special friend, Shirley Frazier of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Cheatam and Michael Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Old Ocoee Cemetery with military honors. Matthew McTaggart, Michael McTaggart, David Harden, Tim Morris, Jerry Dayley and Scott Wilson will serve as pallbearers.
