Dewey Lindell Kirkland, 65, of Benton, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013. He was a machine operator with Weyerhaeuser and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Coghill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by mother, Margaret Bain Kirkland. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Kirkland of Benton; sons, Seth Kirkland of Ringgold, GA and Kevin Kirkland and Jeremy Kirkland, both of Benton; grandchildren, Hayden, Brooklyn and Alaysia Kirkland; father, Robert Kirkland of Athens; brothers, Bobby Kirkland of Athens and Gary Kirkland of CA; and sister, Joyce Kirkland of Athens. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Coghill Baptist Church with the Reverend Joe Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in Coghill Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
