Doris Jean Passmore, 69, a life long resident of Benton, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Benton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne Passmore and Clara Blackwell Passmore. She is survived by her children, Donna Burnette and husband, Timmy of Dalton, GA and Kellie Duggan and husband, Johnny of Benton; grandchildren, Jacob Evans, Dustin Godfrey, Jeremy Pryor, Summer Duggan; sisters, Pat Bivens and husband, Ronnie of Benton and Carol Passmore Evanson and husband, Charles of Hartwell, GA; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ulysis Cain and Betty Bailey. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Mason officiating. Interment will be Saturday, July 4 at 11:00 a.m. in Benton Memorial Gardens with Jacob Evans, Dustin Godfrey, Jeremy Pryor, Curtis Biggs, Johnny Duggan and Timmy Burnette serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 3, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
