Dorothy Mae Blackwell Dorothy Mae Thomason Blackwell, 80, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at her residence. She was a life-long resident of Polk County and a member of Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending Happy Hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawerence and Cordella Thomason, husband Lloyd ( Dago) Blackwell, son Larry Leon Blackwell, grandson, Andy Foster, sisters; Ellen Ledford, Mary Jane Jenkins, Minnie Jenkins, brother; Richard Thomason. Dorothy is survived by two sons: Jerry (JoAnn) Blackwell, Roy (Ruth) Blackwell, two daughters ; Barbara Randolph, Brenda (Robert) Foster,all of Benton, daughter-in-law; DeAnna Blackwell of Cleveland, grandchildren; Darlene Crumley, Wayne (Tiffni) Blackwell, Angie (Lloyd) Crowder, Shelby (Geoff) Ownbey, Brandi (Jason) Cheatham, Karen (Brandon) Calhoun, Missy (Nick) Kapke, Jennifer (Scott) Stewart, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hazlewood officiating. Interment will be held in Old Ocoee Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday November 30, 2014, with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday November 29, at the funeral home prior to the service.
