It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Ellen Pippenger, 83, of Benton, TN.

She was a Polk County, TN native. She worked through the years at Maytag, Magic Chef, and retired from Whirlpool. She was a long-time member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

She was a devoted wife and wonderful mother, always putting others first. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, making quilt tops, cross stitching and loved cross word puzzles. She was an excellent seamstress.

She left us with a legacy of strength and kindness. Though our hearts are heavy currently, we are blessed to know that she is now at peace. Heaven has truly gained another angel.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Neal Pippenger, her parents Newt and Edith Crumley of Ocoee, brothers-in-law Gene Hannah, Dean Pippenger and sister-in-law Evelyn Lee, grandnephew Ben Hannah, and great-great niece Sloan Hannah.

She is survived by: her two daughters, Valerie Pippenger and Karen Pippenger, her sister JoAnn Hannah, her aunt Shelby Wright, nieces Aleta (Kenny) Moorhouse, Jana Hannah, nephew Louis Hannah, grandnephews KR Moorhouse, Ricky (Amanda) Hannah, grandniece Sydney Moorhouse, brothers in law Johnny (Jean) Pippenger, Kenneth (Sandra) Pippenger, sister-in-law, Diahana Pippenger, great-great niece, Emma Hannah, great-great nephew, Brighaem Hannah.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton, with Pastor Andy Sibley officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Station Baptist Church Cemetery, with family serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
