Earl “Lorene” Jordan, 97, of Benton, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 5, 1928, in Chattanooga, to the late Wofford and Etta Huckabey Hale.

Throughout life, Lorene enjoyed yard work, gardening, playing games like scrabble, corn hole, Rook, including croquet and pitching horseshoes, and doing all sorts of puzzles. She was very talented at sewing, making many beautiful quilts. Her favorite past time was cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Lorene was soft-spoken, patient and treated everyone with kindness, always willing to help others. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Wofford and Etta Huckabey Hale, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Howard Jordan; brothers, Hoyt Hale, James Hale, and Raymond Hale; sons, Raymond Jordan, and Patrick Jordan; sister, Mary Nell Hale; grandson, Tracey Huckabee; great-great infant granddaughter, Andylan Palma.

Left to cherish the many memories include her loving children, Alice (Jerry) Tinch, of Lenoir City, TN., Mary (Terry Van Allman) Jordan, of Kimball, TN., Virginia (Paul) McIntosh, of Benton, TN., and David (Ramona) Jordan of Benton, TN.; grandchildren, Kelli Palma, of Marrietta, GA., Lori Robinson, of Kimball, TN., Paris (Kevin) Adams, of Delano, TN., Casey Campbell, of South Pittsburg TN., Jason (Tonya) Powell, of Dothan, AL., Johnathan Powell, of Benton, TN., and Jordan Kirby, of Benton, TN.; great-great grandchildren, Parisanna (Evan Warrington) Palma, Dylan (Brittany) Palma of Cartersville, Ga., Andrew Palma, of Cartersville, GA., Heather Lynn (Courtney) Campbell, of Jasper, TN., Tyler Campbell, of South Pittsburg, TN., Hunter Steele, of Kimball, TN., Tanner Steele, of Kimball, TN., Terri Steele, of Lookout Valley, TN., Hayley Powell, of Dothan, AL., Carson Powell, of Dothan, AL., Eliza Kirby, of Athens, TN., and Olivia Adams, of Delano, TN., Lila Ledford, of Cleveland, TN.; great-great-great grandchildren, Atlas Warrington, Attica Warrington, and Mariah Powell; two special friends, Betty Wilcox and Ginger Combs.

Her family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton.
