IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edgar "Ed"
Evans
November 15, 1966 – September 8, 2025
Edgar "Ed" Evans, 58, of Delano, departed this life peacefully on September 8, 2025, at a Knoxville hospital.
He was born on November 15, 1966, in Cleveland, Tenn., to the late Lewis D. and Jane Moore Evans. A member of Archville Baptist Church in Reliance, Tenn., Danny loved the Lord and would often talk about his own testimony through his relationship with Jesus Christ. Throughout life, he was referred to as Ed, Danny, and Moose, always known as a man that would help anyone regardless of the situation. He loved spending time with his family and friends on their multitudes of hunting and fishing trips. An outdoorsman and friend, Ed never met a stranger and would give the shirt of his back.
Later in life Ed found peace and love with the births of his grandchildren. He adored them and enjoyed spending time with them whether in the woods, an early morning fishing trip, or a Sunday afternoon NASCAR race on tv. Loved by all who knew him, he will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish the many memories include his three daughters, Cassandra Evans, Emily Evans-Fugate (Gregory Neff), Divonna Presley; one son, Christopher Presley; four grandchildren, Danny Ray Hickerson, Stephen Turner, Greyson Neff, and Korbin Neff; one sister, Carrie Evans (Joe Jones); one brother, Mark (Susan) Evans; niece, Savannah Davis. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Hambright Cemetery, with Pastor Josh Franks officiating. Gregory Neff, Tyler Reason, Will Frank, Chase Frank, Dawson Price, and Michael Brown will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Presley, Savannah Davis, Joe Jones, and Chris Dasher. Family will assemble at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home and proceed to the cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Archville Baptist Church in Reliance, Tenn.
Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.HigginsFunerals.com.
Arrangements entrusted to Higgins Funeral Home of Benton.
