Ernest Augustus Raymond, 80, of Benton, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 at his residence. He was retired from the United States Marine Corps where he served as an officer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Helen Beller Raymond; son, Roger Raymond; and brother, Carl Raymond. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Shelton Raymond; children, Robert Raymond of Chattanooga, Randall Raymond of Benton and Maria Taylor and husband, Darrell, Denise Satterfield and husband, Tony and Sheryl Frase, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Shane Hancock of Cleveland, Roger Raymond II of Benton and Renee Raymond of White, GA; two great grandchildren; sister, Fredea Perry of California; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Carl Duckworth officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery with full military honors. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
