Gary Lynn Dixon, 73, of Benton, passed away peacefully at his home on January 8, 2025.

He was born June 7, 1951, in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late Roy and Dorothy Dixon. Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Gary had a deep love for spending time with his grandchildren, working on fast cars, fishing, and following NASCAR. His passion for life was evident in everything he did, from family gatherings to his favorite pastimes. Gary retired from Bowater, where he worked in wastewater management and took pride in sharing his knowledge by hosting classes on the subject.

In addition to his parents, Roy and Dorothy Dixon, he was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Dixon.

Left to cherish the many memories include his loving wife of 53 years, Delores Dixon; children, Gary Lynn (Tammy) Dixon II and Chasity Lynn (Bobby) Jenkins; grandchildren, Colton (Mackenzie) Dixon, Roger Raymond, and Acacia Dixon; great-grandson, Ryder Dixon; brother, Randy (Jill) Dixon.

Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at Higgins Funeral Home at a later date.
