Louis Eugene "Gene" Hannah, Sr., 80, of Old Fort, TN passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and retired from Shaw Industries, Inc. in Dalton, GA. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and during his service he received numerous awards and commendations.

He was a loyal, hard-working husband and father. His family and farm always came first. He loved to joke and bring smiles wherever he went. He never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Lanion Hannah and Kate Katherine Jones Hannah; half-brother, Julian R. Hannah; step-brothers, John Pickel and Ronnie Pickel.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Jo Ann Crumley Hannah; children, Aleta (Kenny) Moorhouse of Ocoee, TN, Louis Eugene Hannah, Jr. of Old Fort, TN, Jana L. Hannah of Ocoee, TN; grandchildren, Sydney (Nick) Breedlove, K. R. Moorhouse, Ben Hannah, Ricky (Amanda) Hannah; great granddaughter, Emma Hannah.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN with the Reverend Kinzel Hooker and Reverend Charles Campbell officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 in Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2017 prior to the service.
