Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Gertha Hinkey Beckler, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the age of 86 years to meet her loving husband on their 71st anniversary in heaven, which is a true love story. She was a lifelong resident of the Cookson Creek Community.

She was a very gifted quilter, and her quilts are treasured all over the world, including Australia, England, Germany, Canada and across the USA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Beckler. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Olen and Dovie Johnson; sister, Agnes Elizabeth; son, Eddie Beckler and great-grandson, Zachary Milen.

She is survived in life by her daughters, Marie (Bobby) Atkins, Regina Milen, and son, Jerry (Lisa) Beckler. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Stacy Beckler, Chris Beckler, Amy Harden, Kelley Lee, Adam Atkins, Angi Cross, Andrew Milen, Lori Milen and Dustin Woods; 14 great-grandchildren, McCall Horton, Dawson Beckler, Abbi Harden, Anna Harden, Jaden Lee, Juel Lee, Britton Atkins, Chloe Cross, Elijah Cross, Garret Milen, Caden Milen, Cambree Milen, Anna Milen and Malachi Woods Ray. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and her best friend, Virginia German.

She was a member of Cookson Creek Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Cookson Creek Baptist Church with Dr. F. Bobby Atkins, Pastor Mike Rymer and Pastor Brian Whitmore officiating. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service at the church.

Interment will follow at Cookson Creek Cemetery.
