Gineva Gibbs "Nana" West, 79, of Old Fort, departed this life on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at her residence.

She was born on June 14, 1942, to the late Rass and Dolly Alama Gibbs. Throughout life she enjoyed being with her family, especially joking around and listening to her music.

In addition to her parents, Rass and Dolly Gibbs, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Hancal Gibbs, Eula Mae Green, Theodore Gibbs, Norman Gibbs, Nora Stewart, and Harley Gibbs.

Left to cherish the many memories include her beloved children, Randal West and Ronnie (Mary) West; cherished grandchildren, Christian (Stephanie) Elliott and Brenda West; one special adopted grandson, Henry Childers; great-grandson, Roman Elliott; one sister, Annalou Mason; special nephews, Reese Gibbs, Daniel Mason, and William Meashey, Jr. Several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Whitmire officiating.

Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
