Glata Laura Triplett Cavett, 96, of Ocoee, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at a local hospital. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Thomas Triplett and Lydia Adaline Woody Triplett; husband, James Cavett; daughter, Mary Ruth Locke; three grandchildren; brothers, Ernest Triplett, Fred Triplett, John Triplett, Bob Triplett, Luther Triplett and Carl Triplett; and sisters, Ada Presswood, Susie Triplett, Velma King and Irene Poe. She is survived by her sons, Ray Cavett and wife, Bonnie of Ocoee and Ron Cavett and wife, Jo of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Smyrna Baptist Church with the Reverend Charles Cheatham and the Reverend Jim Parm officiating. Interment will follow in Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
