Glenda Johnson Evans Teague, 67, a life long resident of Benton, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in a local hospital. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church. She retired from Cleveland Chair. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ed Evans; father, Earnest "Pete" Johnson; son, Marcus Evans; grandmother, Edna Johnson; and sister, Anita Givens. She is survived by her mother, "Granny" Margie Johnson of Benton; children, Gregory Evans and wife, Donna of Athens, Byron Evans and wife, Crystal of Benton, Lennette Teague O'Hern and husband, Brian of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Douglas Evans of Benton and Kieran O'Hern and Cael O'Hern, both of Atlanta; great grandson, Colby Evans of Benton; sister, Bettie Anderson and husband, Vergil of Benton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Dills, Pastor Ted Dubbs and Pastor David Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Baptist Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 6:00-9:00 at Higgins Funeral Home.
