Grace M. (Gunter) Barnes, 89, a resident of Benton, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at the family residence. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton. Mrs. Barnes was the daughter of the late Waymon and Maggie Gunter and was also preceded in death by her husband, W.D. (Dennis) Barnes and three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her son Chris and wife Cathy Barnes of Benton; grandchildren: Josh and Stephanie Barnes and Cody Barnes all of Benton; great-grandchildren: Jadin Barnes and Brezzie Barnes both of Benton; brothers: Harry (H.B.) Gunter, Billy Gunter, Herbert, Gunter, Harrison Gunter and Bobby Gunter. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Robbie Speights officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at Benton Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the funeral home prior to the service.
