Grace Burchfiel Dixon, 84, of Benton, passed away, Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at a local healthcare facility. She was retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company and was a member of Benton Station Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to the Happy Hearts Dinners, when she was able, at First Baptist Church of Benton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Andrew and Jessie Louella Burchfiel; husband, Cam Dixon; sisters, Naomi Howard, Mattie Sue Johnston, Ann Adkins and brother, Andrew Burchfiel. Jr. She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Huff, Edna Daugherty, Regina Cox; brother, Robert (Bobby) Burchfiel and wife, Jean. Several nieces, nephews and special friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Joel Jenkins officiating. Interment will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Benton Memorial Gardens with Albert Howard, Sam Arms, David Cox, Jeffery Burchfiel, Jim Bob Maples and Nathan Gafford serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
