Hubert Merrell, 79, of Reliance, TN passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016 at his residence. He was a true outdoorsman. He loved to turkey hunt, fish, camp, and dig ginseng.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Mary Rymer Merrell; infant grandson, Joshua Rymer.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Eula Mae Lee Merrell; daughters, Patricia (Bobby) Rymer, Debbie (Bill) Swaggerty; son, Ray (Shirlene) Merrell; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, David (Loretta) Merrell, Johnny (Molly) Merrell, Homer Merrell; sisters, Maudie Martin, Reble (Robert) Green. Several nieces and nephews and many special friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Bobby Rymer and Reverend Vernon Webb officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in Morgan Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home prior to the service.
