Hugh Don (Babe) Evans 80, a beloved husband & father, went home to be with his Heavenly Father at his home. He has always been a faithful servant to the Lord, and was loved & respected by friends & family. Before his retirement, he was employed with Magic Chef for 41 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Mark & Essie Qualls Evans, and his first wife, Jane Rogers Evans, brothers O.J. Evans, Tim Evans, Ed Evans, Rudolph ( Doc) Evans, and Bobby Shelton and two sisters, Lillian Beulah Clayton, and Peggy Watts.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Plemmons Evans of Dalton, Ga; daughters Robin Evans of Benton, Donna Beard of Cleveland, and Jaylene and husband Kenny Lonas of Cleveland; step-daughter, Sandy McCraw and her husband Mark of Dalton, Ga; twelve grandchildren and three great - grandchildren; two half sisters and their spouses; Freddie and Charlie Hall of Ocoee; and Ann and Vel Mantooth of Old Fort; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Zion Baptist Church, with Reverend Harold Firestone officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Church Cemetery with Marc Beard, Matthew Cole, Marc McCraw, Junior Bramlett, Mutt Evans and Ed Bowman serving as pallbearers and conclude with white dove release.

His family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church.
