Obituary

Hugh Hampton, age 92, of Benton passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 at his home. He served in the military as a guard at the war crimes trials at Nuremberg, Germany. Following his military service he worked as a mechanic, construction worker, and a machine operator at Delano Hosiery. He also served as Register of Deeds. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the ScrapIron Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Johnson Hampton, parents, Cooper and Cora Yates Hampton and a daughter, Connie Irene Hampton He is survived by daughters, Mary Anne Patrick of Chattanooga, TN. Judy Hampton of Benton, TN.; grandchildren, Judith and Mike Nelson of Soddy Daisy, TN. , Jennifer Crews of Chattanooga, TN., and Tim and Michelle Patrick of Harrison, TN. Great grandchildren; Lauren and Chase Putnam of Raleigh, NC, Haley and Keith Painter of Kansas City, Mo, Mary Ellyn Dupre of Johnson City, TN, Michael Nelson of Soddy Daisy, TN. Katie Patrick and Carrie Patrick, both of Harrison, TN. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 1, 2013 at 2:00p.m.at Higgins Funeral Home The family will receive friends, Monday, April 1, 2013 from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to TN Baptist Children's Homes, P.O.
