Jack "Stub" Couch, Jr., 69, a life-long resident of Benton, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Woods Memorial Hospital. He was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Couch, Sr. and Iola Bishop Couch; brothers, D. O. Couch and Frank Couch, Sr.; and sisters, Barbara Jean Couch and Judy Couch Link. He is survived by his brother, Willard Couch and wife, Frances of Benton; sisters, Sandy Goode and husband, Gerald of Ocoee, Elizabeth Lively and husband, James of LaFayette, GA and Paige Vernarsky and husband, Paul of Asheville, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Jasper Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Old Ocoee Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
