James Franklin (Hap) Jones, age 82, a resident of Benton, passed away Monday, July 31, 2006 in a local healthcare facility. He was a member of the Rock Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Jones was the son of the late Ed and Alice Thomason Jones and was also preceded in death by a son, Earl Jones, two sisters, Lillian Duggan and Mary Lee Rymer.

He is survived by his wife, Audie Richardson Jones of Benton; children and spouses: Charles "Junior" and Martha Jones of Benton, Frankie Jones of Old Fort, Douglas and Deva Jones of Benton, Patricia Jones of Benton and Gail and Marvin Styles of Ocoee; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Herron officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Ocoee Cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
