James "Bobo" Walter Hicks, 49, a resident of Delano, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011. He worked in the construction business. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy F. Hicks and stepfather, William "Bud" Hicks. He is survived by his mother, Unita Millsaps Hicks of Ducktown; children, Holly Lauren Hicks of Knoxville and Jake Hicks of Ducktown; siblings, Sandy Leamon and husband, Billy of Riceville, Mitchell Hicks and wife, Sherry of Ducktown and Gina Burchfiel and husband, Jeff of Benton; half brother, Dale Sanford of Delano; grandchildren, Marley Kayde Hicks and Madison Jade Hicks; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends; and stepsiblings, Rick Hicks and wife, Lesa, Vickie Runion and husband, Frank, Kent Hicks and wife, Julie and James Hicks, all of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Billy Leamon officiating. Interment will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Camp Ground Cemetery in Reliance. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
