Jeanie Lynn Benton, 63, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on March 9, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

A beloved daughter of James and Janice Beard Crabtree, she was a lifelong resident of Polk County, and retired from Eaton Corporation in 2013. Jeanie loved life unimaginably while devoting herself to her family and friends. Loving the outdoors, Jeanie instantly developed a passion for being outdoors, especially, camping, fishing, and hiking. Though life was short, Jeanie lived, laughed, and loved. Above all, she was blessed to be the mother of her beloved son, T.R. She devoted her adult life to him and through him, her love for life is shown.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James J. and Elsie Barker Crabtree along with Bryan J. and Marie Passmore Beard; stepdaughter, Jill Michelle Benton.

Left to cherish the many memories include her loving husband, John Robert Benton; beloved son, Terry Randall "T.R." Stone, Jr,; parents, James A. and Janice Beard Crabtree; stepson, Nicholas Robert Benton; step granddaughter, Piper Elizabeth Benton; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann (Scott) Shamblin; special aunt, Rita Beard Hammons. Numerous extended family members and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home.

Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Her family will assemble at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, and proceed to Benton Memorial Gardens for the 12:00 p.m. (noon) graveside service. Jack Beard, Tony Beard, Darrell Bates, Mitchell Thurmer, Nicholas Benton, and Keegan Freeman will serve as pallbearers.
