Jewell Elaine Prueitt Bearfield, 71, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at her residence in Calhoun, TN. She was a native and life-long resident of the Linsdale community of Polk County. She was the daughter of the late Spence Garfield Prueitt and Vesta Eaves Prueitt. She was retired from Carwood Mfg. Co. of Benton. She enjoyed volunteering for PCHS concessions, taking bus trips, making quilts, crafting and baking. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her sister, Lorene Lanning, and her beloved dog, Delilah. Survivors include her husband, William Harvey "Bill" Bearfield, and son, William (Stacy) Bearfield; two brothers, Lowell and Rhonnie Prueitt; grandchildren, Lilliana Bearfield, Jeremy Moore, Christopher Hayes and C. J. Bearfield; great-grandchildren, Skylyn and Neo; nieces, Christy (John) Hardin, Jodie Lanning and Dawn Harmon; and nephews, Robby (Kim) Lanning and Chad Prueitt; and special grandchildren, Camden and Chloe Thompson. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 16, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Richard Chastain will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Chestuee Baptist Church Cemetery. Chris Hayes, Robby Lanning, Bo Lanning, Gatlin Lanning, Chad Prueitt and John Hardin will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers well be Jay Roberts and Cameron Bearfield. The family will receive friends Friday, March 15, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home.
