John "Catfish" Richard Shelton, Sr., 58, of Delano passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at his home. He was a member of Archville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents, John Avery and Mildred Winget Shelton; children, John Richard Shelton, Jr., Jeremy Shelton and Jason Shelton all of Benton; four grandchildren; brothers: Bobby, Avery, Tommy and Zeb Shelton all of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Bobby Rymer and Reverend Wilford Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Delano Cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
