Obituary

Joyce Ann Wampler Morgan, 79, of Delano, departed this life peacefully on May 29, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 30, 1946, in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late James B. and Dorothy Taylor Wampler. Ms. Morgan was a faithful member of Springtown Baptist Church.

Throughout life, Ms. Joyce was a friend to many and always brightened the room when she entered with her calm demeanor.

In addition to her parents James and Dorothy Taylor Wampler, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis W. Morgan; and one brother, Ronnie Wampler.

Left to cherish the many memories include her loving children, Deeann Rymer of Sale Creek, Mark (Anita) Morgan of Delano, and Steven (Angie) Morgan of Etowah; seven grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Larry (Teresa) Wampler of Cleveland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Chastain of Cleveland, Brenda (Wade) Williams of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Sally Wampler of Cleveland; brothers-in-law, Henry Morgan of Springtown, and Terry (Norma) Morgan of Springtown.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton, with Pastor Pete Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery, with her grandsons and great-grandson, John Morgan, James Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Mason Frost, Jacob Mayberry, and Jon Mayberry serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga, Athens group, for their compassionate care.
