Joyce A. Rogers Bates, 84, of Benton, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

She was born on December 30, 1940, in Cleveland, Tennessee, to the late Wayne and Nellie Allen Rogers.

Joyce loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of Zion Baptist Church.  She worked at J.H. Kellmans Company for many years and retired from Hardwick Clothing Company, where she made many friends. Joyce enjoyed working in her yard, attending church, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Wayne and Nellie Allen Rogers, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Rogers Lillard, Harold Rogers, and Christine Rogers Ogle; son-in-law, Mark Thompson; brother-in-law, George Lillard.

Left to cherish the many memories include her loving daughter, Lisa Fairbanks Thompson; adored grandchildren, Garrett and Grayson Thompson; brother-in-law, Billy Ogle; sister-in-law, Brenda Rogers. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Zion Baptist Church, with Reverend Charles Cheatham officiating.  Interment will follow at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Garrett Thompson, Grayson Thompson, Michael Lillard, Tracy Rogers, Nathan Rogers and Kyle Freeman serving as pallbearers.

Family and friends will gather from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the church.
