Julia Pearl Gross, 85, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 at her home. She and her husband were retired as home builders. She was a member of Benton Station Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Gross; parents, Walter and Julia Lingerfelter Moorhouse; brothers, Richard T., Jack and Boyd Moorhouse; and sister, Elizabeth Crumley. She is survived by her siblings and caregivers, William E, Moorhouse and wife, Edna of Benton, Iola Brock and husband, Elton of Benton, Elmer Moorhouse and wife, Joyce of Ocoee, Velma Massengill and husband, Dick of Benton; special niece, Julie Shirer and husband, Woody; great nephew, Alec Shirer; several other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Nellie Haulk and Dianne Womack Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Joel Jenkins officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Benton Station Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
